All members of Richmondshire Ramblers are invited to attend our AGM will be held on Sunday 15th November 2026 at 9:30 at Richmond Town Hall. The doors will be open from 09.20 for refreshments. The AGM will start at 09.30 followed by a walk from Richmond Town Hall of no more than 8 miles. We aim to finish the AGM by 10.30. There is free car parking in the Market Place on Sundays.
Our formal duties at the AGM are to:
- Approve the minutes of last year’s AGM,
- Approve this year’s Annual Report, including the financial statement,
- Elect a Committee for the year and discuss any motions received from the membership.
This year, we are seeking to fill the following vacancies on the committee. Please consider standing for a post. None of the roles are particularly arduous but need to be filled to enable the club to run smoothly. The committee meet three times a year, usually in a pub!
Group Secretary - The role is self explanatory. We currently have one willing, capable volunteer however other volunteers are welcome if they feel they are up for the job. Full training and support will be given.
Walk Programme Co-ordinator and Walk Checker - We require one person plus a stand-in if they are on holiday. Again we currently have one willing volunteer but would like another person to cover if needed. This role is quite straight forward, as Walk leaders now submit their own walks. The post entails proof reading the details of each walk including a spell check, then publishing the walk on the website. Full training and support will be given.
General Committee Member: May not have a specific role but will bring expertise and views from the ranks of our Group. Being a Committee Member provides an opportunity to see how our Group is managed and it can be a stepping stone to taking on a specific role at a later date. A willingness to assist is also appreciated.
