Walking to Cogden Hall, Sharrow Hill, Lemon Gill, Grinton Mill, return via Hirst Ridge and Harker Mires – 4 miles
11 walkers met near Grinton YHA on a cloudy but dry Wednesday morning. Leader Tom tested our athletic ability on some interesting stiles on the path down to Cogden Hall. We enjoyed a scenic coffee break after a short pull up Sharrow Hill and then crossed over the moor to Grinton smelting mill. We were very impressed with the excellent standard of bridge repairs on this route, following the floods of 2019. The temperature rose steadily throughout the morning and we returned to the cars warmed up and ready for lunch. Thanks to Tom for another super walk!
