Bowes to Intake Bridge via the Pennine way, returning on the Sleightholme road – 8 miles

10 walkers met at Bowes village hall car park on a humid Sunday morning. The clouds gathered as we passed Bowes castle and crossed the river Greta. The rain came as we climbed up from Mellwaters farm, however this was an isolated shower and we had a dry lunch stop at Intake Bridge. We had good views as we descended the Sleightholme road back to Bowes. The weather stayed fair as we enjoyed some well earned refreshments in the courtyard of the Ancient Unicorn.
