From Thornton Rust onto Addlebrough via the National Trust permissive path then onto Carpley Green. En- route visiting the remains of various archaeological settlements. Lunch stop at Stony Raise Cairn and Greenber settlements. From there we head to Castle Dyke Henge via Stake Fell, Black Pasture and Flout Moor -10 miles
Eleven walkers enjoyed looking at various settlements; Stony Raise Cairn, rock art on Addleborough and Castle Dykes Henge. The weather was good apart from an odd shower. We came across a sheep laid on its side, and two of our group managed to get it back on its feet. We enjoyed a well earned drink in Aysgarth on the way home!
