From Calton to Caldbergh, along Red Way track then over open moorland to Great Roova Crags . Returning via Trough Gutter to West Scrafton and Micklethwaite Gill - 10 miles
Fifteen members turned out to negotiate Roova Crags on a lovely sunny day. We saw lots of snowdrops at lower levels and three deer on the moor. We had a break halfway up Red Way Track and lunch at the shooters' hut on Roova Crags. We then made our way along the boundary line, passing little Roova Crags. A short break was suggested at West Scrafton to soak up the sunshine and admire the view. On returning to Carlton we enjoyed a well deserved drink in the village pub.
