Barningham circular,   taking in  How Tallon, part of the The Stang forest and the hamlet of East Hope - 8.5 miles

A keen, brisk wind greeted eleven members as they stepped out of their cars at Barningham Moor. The walk up to How Tallon was pleasantly dry underfoot. On reaching the Trig point the visibility was very clear giving a 360 degree view across the Northern Pennines. Despite the cold, we found some examples of Rock Art before heading down into The Stang Forest and the hamlet of East Hope. A brief lunch stop by Drydale Gill then along the track to Haythwaite Farm and back along the minor road to Barningham. As predicted the rain showers came in at 1pm just as we came by Haythwaite Farm. A swift half was enjoyed at Smallways Country Inn.
