From  West Witton down to the River Ure and Redmire Force.  Then through fields to Hestholme Bridge crossing the A684.   Return via field paths and High Lane - 8 miles

Thirteen  keen ramblers made  a  prompt start at 9.30am. The temperature was only 4 degrees Celsius but we were very spoilt with bright sun and the lightest of breezes. The walk took us down to the banks of the River Ure; we had a  short coffee stop at Redmire force before crossing the A684 at Hestholme Bridge. We headed back towards West Witton via the Remains of the Preceptory Knights Templars with  plenty of time for a drink at the Fox & Hounds where we were made to feel most welcome.
