Carlton to East Scrafton, Caldbergh, Red Lane track to Roova Crags via open access. Returning via West Scrafton
Eight walkers set off from Carlton, weather cold but fair. We walked along the road for a while before turning right towards St Simon's Chapel, and then onto Caldbergh. We had our first stop on the Red Way Track in a quarry. From there we headed across open access land towards Great Roova Craggs. Unfortunately one of the party fell in a ditch and badly sprained an ankle. We carried on slowly over the Moor towards Trough Gutter while two of the team headed to Carlton and met us in a 4x4 just as the rain came on. A big thank you to everyone who helped in getting us all back safely.
