Walking from Carlton in Coverdale to West Scrafton and Swineside, crossing moorland to Arkleside and Horsehouse, returning along the River Cover to Gamersgill and Carlton - 9 miles

Five walkers left Carlton Memorial Hall on a bright and breezy morning.  We had some boggy tracks and swollen streams after recent rain,  but that didn't prevent us  enjoying spectacular autumn views. We found a great lunch spot at Gammersgill , before returning to Carlton where we celebrated a great walk in the Foresters Arms!
