Fountains Abbey to Mackershaw, Markenfield Hall, Ingerthorpe Hall and Ingerthorpe Grange, returning via Haddockstones, and Fountains Fish Pond  - 9.5 miles

12 walkers met at Fountains Abbey visitors centre for Mike's loop around the impressive historic houses  in the area. We set off in rather  unexpected rain, however this soon stopped and we had calm, dry weather for the remainder of the walk. Muddy conditions underfoot in a number of places didn’t stop us having a lovely day, although we were rather grateful for the last mile or so of dry road walking !
