From Muker, walking to White Beacon, Blackstone, Askrigg Common and Satron Moor and Satron; returning along the River Swale - 11.5 miles

Six walkers  set off from Muker and walked up to Greenseat gate,  through lots of heather and peat haggs until we reached White Beacon top. We had our first break among white cotton grass, then followed the boundary fence to Blackstone Edge, where we had lunch in a little shelter. This was  followed by another tough walk by a boundary fence over Askrigg Common to Oxnop Scar and on to Satron via the Pennine Journey route,  where the wild pansies were in abundance. We then had a pleasant walk back by the river,  although unfortunately the Muker meadow flowers were not fully out yet . Good  day  out with reasonable weather..
