Carperby to Castle Bolton, Bolton Moor East, Carperby Moor and  Beldshaw Hill - 12.5 miles

Five walkers met at Carperby. Nice weather to start, then windy and cloudy later. The heather was in full bloom.
We had a steady walk to Castle Bolton via Bolton Parks proceded by a steady climb to Black Hill where we had our first break. We then followed a grouse shooter's track, and then climbed up to Greenhaw hut for a very nice lunch break. We stepped back out into the wind to follow another shooter's track over Carperby Moor, and then down Beldhaw Hill, along Oxclose Road and back to Carperby via West End farm.
