Linear walk along the River Ure from Ripon - 8.5 miles

Eight ramblers met for a linear walk along the River Ure in blustery but mostly dry weather. Starting out along the Ripon Canal provided interesting canal views and architecture. The countryside was lovely, though unfortunately, the previous day’s heavy rain soon put paid to riverside walking. Detours were attempted, but in the end we decided to flag a lift to  the end  rather  than conclude our walk with  a swim!
