Barnard Castle to Lartington via Deepdale woods, return via Lartington Hall Park and Teesdale way - 7 miles
Four walkers met at Bowes museum for a woodland walk. Spring flowers were out in force - we walked through carpets of blue bells, flowering wild garlic and wood anemones . We also saw plenty of other wild flower delights including wood sorrel, stitchwort , marsh marigolds and cowslips plus a lovely orchid. The weather was changeable ; we walked in warm sunshine at times and had a short , heavy shower just before our return to Barnard Castle where we finished off a great morning with a nice lunch .
